Pakistanis in Leadership Positions in the Legal Community
August 6, 2026, New York, NY. PAANY hosted its first formal educational and networking seminar, “Pakistanis in Leadership Positions in the Legal Community,” at the New York office of Linklaters LLP. The event marked a defining moment in the organization’s evolution — transitioning from foundational gatherings to substantive programming centered on leadership, professional growth, and visibility.
The evening featured a keynote address by Muhammad Faridi, Partner at Linklaters and President of the New York City Bar Association. Mr. Faridi spoke candidly about his professional journey, the responsibilities of leadership, and the importance of representation within the legal profession.
Following the keynote, Mr. Faridi joined Kabir Hashmi for an engaging fireside chat that explored his path to partnership, his experiences in public and private leadership roles, and his reflections on navigating the legal profession as a Pakistani-American attorney. The conversation offered both inspiration and practical insight to attorneys at every stage of their careers.
The seminar was exceptionally well attended, drawing members and guests from across New York City’s legal community. Once again, Linklaters’ generosity underscored institutional support for PAANY’s mission and the growing recognition of the organization’s impact.
As PAANY’s first structured educational program, the event was a resounding success — combining thought leadership, mentorship, and meaningful networking. It solidified PAANY’s role not only as a community-building organization, but as a platform for elevating Pakistani-American leadership within the broader legal profession.
